About me: Too Soxy for your browser
Nice to meet you! I’m Lauren, quite possibly the south’s only Sox fan. At least its loudest. Underappreciated. And way too far from Fenway…
By day I’m a writer in Raleigh, North Carolina.
By night, I’m the Sox’s biggest cheerleader (even if it’s towards a television set) and Kevin Youkilis’ widow. My beloved husband, Kevin, passed away in December from a lingering illness. Your support during this time is appreciated. Feel free to bring me food. In casserole dishes. Which I might not return. On account of the grieving.

E-mail me! I love e-mails. ohnolauren@gmail.com. And I am great at answering questions. About, you know. The Red Sox. And life. And stuff.
Do you live in Raleigh? Look for me in Triangle Red Sox Nation!
Rant on, v. funny, Lauren. But why did you go to a place where they are positively sure to call you a… a YANKEE?
hey lauren, i was wonderin how you got the “tag cloud” on the right side of your blog, or if it just comes by itself as you get more tags. Thanks, Dan
I think they appear there as you add tags in your post- at least on wordpress. It’s an automatic thing with this particular template.
Hey Lauren, thought I would check in on your blog seeing that somehow you found mine. I love reading the irrational rants of a true fanatic! It is funny and insightful, I wish we had that kind of sports passion about something other than hockey up here in Canada. I have enjoyed what I have read and will continue to read more but Kevin Youkilis? Are you serious? Have a great day
Roy
Nice to meet you, Lauren. I was at Fenway this summer and fell in love with it. Was treaten very well by Boston and the Nation. I hope to do a trip to NC soon. Tons of Minor League teams there!!!!

‘Minoring In Baseball’
Fact: I saw Kevin Youkilis play in the Minor Leagues… but I’m a Yankees fan so I booed him the whole time
Love the blog, and have to say…you weren’t alone in the South the last few years, I was trapped in Spartanburg, SC dealing with phony Yankee and Steeler fans…sad
Hi!
You are NOT alone. Like the blog, what I’ve checked out so far anyway. And maybe your comment is what I’ve needed to get me off my ass and pay a little attention to my own for a change. Where ya at in Western NC and who do you write for? I love the mountains and have friends all over the area from Highlands/Cashiers to Asheville to Boone/Banner Elk.
Love your blog! Hilarious! I went to school in Boston and was there in Kenmore square when they broke the curse, so I know all about Sox pride! I actually remember being scared for a girl on my crew team when her and a bunch of her friends were screaming “Yankees rule” after the Sox lost the series the first year. I thought for sure they were going to get beaten up (luckily they were girls)!
Enjoying your site! http://theunderstander.wordpress.com/2011/11/29/the-understander-an-award-winning-blog/
Hey, where in western NC are you? I’m in Raleigh. Keep doing your thing and thanks for checking me out!

Mountains! Actually looking for jobs in Raleigh right now. Small world!
Great stuff! Love the humor, and of course the Sox. Keep it up.
Hey, Lauren. Hope your move went well and the new job rocks. As for the Sox, I think this year is going to be interesting. As in not particularly excellent, but just excellent enough to keep us interested until the inevitable reality sinks in that WE HAVE NO FOURTH AND FIFTH PITCHERS and Josh Beckett actually turns into a tubbo fried chicken around August 21st. Until then it will be fun. Anyway, you have the most entertaining blog in all of Red Sox Nation.
Hi Lauren, You recently visited my blog, ondeckcircle.wordpress.com, so I thought I’d return the favor. Like you, I am a displaced Northerner living in the South. I now live in Greenville, S.C., though I grew up in New England. Definitely don’t miss the snow.
Again, thanks for checking in, and I like your blog, and your sense of humor.
Chat me up sometime about baseball, life, etc.

Keep up the great work. Don’t mind us New England fans. We are bitter folk.
(Link to your blog finally up on my Sox links list!)
Lauren, been meaning to do this for a WHILE, but just wanted to say I love your blog, and I’ll put you on the “Other Sites I like” page on my blog, and continue to read your blog. Anyway, good luck with the move to Raleigh!
Just curious, Where’d you go? Season ain’t near done yet!
