Why trading Kevin Youkilis is un-American!
Okay. So mayyyybe OverTheMonster doesn’t call it “un-American.”
Right? No more Jed Lowrie to bail you out of THAT one, eh, commies?
Mike Aviles? Really?
I’d like to SEE YOU TRY.
For the proverbial young and good starter the price is going to be younger players with cost controlled years in return. A 33 year old third baseman with a laundry list of injuries and $13 million due to him just isn’t going to cut it.
Um. I don’t know how to respond to that. On one hand, I want to defend Youkie from the “old” implication. On the other hand, I want you all to think he’s worthless so you don’t trade him. Conundrum, hmmm?
And… WHAT? He’s listed on this site as the number three riskiest vet? WHAT?
It was a fluke year, guys! A fluke!
Youk- uninjured- has consistency. He literally throws everything he has into every move on the diamond. Watch A-Gonz slow jog to first. And then watch Youkilis. Whether it looks like they’re going for the catch or not, he barrels forward. Because he actually wants to win.
Don’t make him take that desire elsewhere. Because I imagine he’s a lot scarier when he’s barreling AT you.
