Dear Bobby Valentine, About what you said regarding Kevin Youkilis…

So. Um. I’m ticked off.

Instead of watching the game during my twenty minute break to walk the El, I’m talking to YOU, Bobby Valentine, in a way I have NEVER talked to one of our managers before. Not Grady Little. Not Tito. Not even John Lackey.

Ahem.

An abridged version of what I wrote earlier today- without the leprosy references and the part about hoping you dissipate into a thousand molecules and that the brain molecules float to Raleigh…

Dear Bobby Valentine,

Maybe, instead of experimenting with spray tanner, talking to the media, practicing your smirks in front of the mirror, oh and TALKING TO THE MEDIA,

You should be developing our players. And not making enemies. Especially ones vindictive enough to start a new segment (look for it tomorrow) with a fun fact about you every day.

L

And a sidenote- for those of you who think this is about Kevin Youkilis- it is NOT. It is about a team MANAGER talking smack about his own fricking team. Unprofessional and Unintelligent.

It doesn’t matter if Kevin Youkilis walks in every day with a Frick-You-Tude. It’s something you deal with privately, a PERSONNEL issue. And not in the media. NEVER appropriate. That’s one of the things that had us as fans so ticked in September, remember? One of those things that was going to STOP in 2012?

For the first time, I want Kevin Youkilis to leave the Red Sox. Because you can’t play in that kind of environment. It’s going to break my heart to see him go- but I don’t think he has a choice. What if your boss was on the radio saying this crap about you?

Bobby V, we’re done.

I’m going to root for your team. And root for you to leave Boston. We need someone who will UNIFY the clubhouse. Not crap all over it.

I don’t like watching people crap, personally.

I’m disappointed.

I really wanted to like you.

So, I’m not the only one questioning this, Bobby V.

“I know he plays as hard as anybody I’ve ever seen in my life. I have his back and his teammates have his back,” Dustin Pedroia said. “I really don’t know what Bobby’s trying to do, but that’s not the way we go about our stuff around here. He’ll figure that out. The whole team is behind Youk.”

No. It’s not, is it, Dustin Pedroia?

Screaming at the Shortstop’s Jup thinks it could be trouble

I don’t know how two people so alike can have such different views on this situation.

If last year taught me anything it’s that I am done with the prima donna attitude this entire team seems to have.

What the little guy with little character did was unforgivable. He will never have my support from this day forward..FDA this has NOTHING to do with prima dona attitudes .It is about dealing with situations face to face man to man.You cannot have respect if you don’t give it.For all his faults as a stategist,Tito was a man of character and dealt with his players one to one MAN TO MAN !It took this slug to show us that .

No Francona dealt with nothing. He sat there and let them do whatever they wanted for TWO YEARS. Do you realize the whole out of control clubhouse was going on for two years? Want to know why Schilling and Pedroia loved Tito, because he never told them no. Schilling wanted to stay in the game longer then Tito thought, Tito let him stay. Pedroia wanted to play when Tito wanted him to have the day off. He let him play. If a hated player was the one called out than all these same fans would be supporting Valentine. If he had called out JD Drew a lot of people would have been okay with it. Youkilis is loved by these brain dead fans like Manny was for years. It’s pathetic.

Don’t complain about last year EVER if you are fine with this happening again. The radio is right and I HATE the radio. Fans will side with the players.

Everyone knew how Bobby did things when he was hired. These players including Youkilis were whining before the season started when Bobby was hired. They were whining during spring training.

I never thought I would stop liking a red sox team but most of these players are spoiled brats.

Dustin can claim everyone has Youkilis’s back but I know for a fact many red sox players think his over the top whining to the refs at every call has cost this team in the past.

Keep making excuses for these players and enjoy losing because we are heading for last year again

Everybody will end up deciding whether it was a good move based on how the team performs. If Boston wins the World Series and Youk is the MVP, then everybody will praise Bobby V as a master motivator. If Boston wins 70 games, Bobby is a fool who is out of touch and dividing the clubhouse. I don’t really have an opinion on it either way but you see these types of call-out tactics used and they always get some pushback. The most recent example was Lamar’s basketball coach Pat Knight (and son of Bobby) calling out his seniors as the worst group he’d ever seen and how they were stealing money from the school through their scholarship. Got ripped but the team went unbeaten the rest of the way to make it to the NCAA Tournament. Was it because of his brilliant public tactic? Eh…I dunno. Like I said, check back in September/October and everyone will KNOW if it was a good or bad move.

No one is blaming Youkilis. He gets his Manny free pass.

I love Dustin Pedroia but his comments were ignorant and to me it felt like he was thinking he was bigger then the team. No this isn’t how things are done in Boston. Or at least it never used to be.

It was like Youkilis was saying that the players are who people come to see and we will get our own way so it doesn’t matter what you say.

Strange goings on in the Boston Manager’s office to be sure. It’s almost like Valentine is can’t make the transition from provcative analyst to manager and that can’t be making the clubhouse a very happy place to work.

Give me a break. Blind idiots like you that follow this team and believe everything they say are the reason the Red Sox are in this mess. Fans like you let them think they can act like spoiled brats and get their own way because they are baseball players.

It’s time you take your pink hat and go become a Yankee fan. The self absorbed blind following is reserved for New York fans.

Just remember you made this personal. I made a comment about the baseball players. If you want to sling mud then you better be able to back it up with better comments then “You are ignorant”

People in glass houses should not throw stones.

As sad as this sounds, winning the world series was the worst thing to happen to this team. The fans are like you and the players think they deserve a free pass for every stupid thing they do.

FDA, why are you in such a bad mood? The Bruins are leading 3-2 and about to take a 2-1 series lead. Relax :)

When did you get out of bridgewater ?Did they not provide you with a supply of meds?Of course you’re right .With us fans backing the players we’ll certainly never win again!

Oh Jeb. I gave an opinion and the bitch attacked me.I don’t take shit from idiots especially those hidden behind computers. Those that can’t take the heat should get out of the kitchen. You know instead of whining and calling me names like a two year old then crying when I do the same back to them.

The owners might like winning but they want the money more and the more people support the bad behavior of this team the less chance this team has of ever changing their bad behavior. Thank God Youkilis will get his wish next year playing for a team where the fans don’t give a shit about you. It’s what he deserves and wants.

. I am selling a lot of my tickets on stub hub if you are interested. One set was sold last night and I made a 120 dollar profit.
