ASU – FBS inevitable now, apparently
This is a follow up to that time I wrote about Appalachian State University and no one cared?
Someone clearly cares.

We’ll have to see if it’s inevitable. Still has to pass Peacock and the Trustees. My guess is it will but then do we have a conference invite lined up? We can’t go as an independent. As I said before, if the conference is MAC/Sun Belt, no thanks. C-USA is acceptable. My dream scenario is realignment chaos (we’re very close) and a major conference has to desperately add teams to stay relevant. I think the odds of a Big East/ACC invite are small but larger than the average fan thinks. If the SEC starts raiding Big 12 and ACC all bets are off.
i am being told conf usa…
i still think this is a terrible idea.
Why do you think it’s a terrible idea?
because i like winning! keep up!
If the Red Sox moved down to single-A ball, I guarantee you they would win more games. App will definitely have more difficulty replicating seasons in the past no matter what conference they join and national titles will probably be no more, but if it helps the school and sports teams I think it’s a good idea. I have a lot of questions that would like to be addressed based on my long comment on a previous post. But if App can join a conference and earn enough revenue to offset the negatives, I’ll support it. That’s why my best guess is MAC/Sun Belt is unacceptable and C-USA would be JUST good enough. What will be really interesting though is if SEC adds Texas A&M, Missouri, FSU, Va Tech, Clemson, etc. Then the Big 12 will need to raid C-USA to stay alive while the ACC will look to the Big East. Conferences need 12 teams to put on a conference championship game. I don’t think it’s completely ridiculous for the Big East or ACC to look towards Boone in case they need that 12th team. I agree C-USA is most likely (and hope more than MAC or Sun Belt) but the “black swan” possibility of total chaos means we need to be prepared.
